Good contact, Nash, used to be here. Had a son that went West.

— Cass

Johnson Nash is an elderly citizen of Primm in Fallout: New Vegas.

Background[]

Johnson Nash is the local general store manager and Mojave Express supervisor, who moved into Primm around 2273, setting up the local branch office of the Express. He is considered a trustworthy partner for merchants and couriers alike, though he has little patience for people who back out of contracts at the last moment, such as Ulysses. He is happily married to Ruby Nash and had a son with her, who moved to the New California Republic in search of a better life.[1]

Nash is the closest the town has to a mayor. When the escaped convicts flooded the town after the NCRCF uprising and killed the sheriff, he organized the remaining town citizens into an impromptu militia and took shelter in the Vikki and Vance Casino, saving them from certain death. He did not manage to save Deputy Beagle, however, who was taken hostage by the attackers.

  • They Went That-a-Way: Nash points the player towards Deputy Beagle if they want to learn more about the band that attacked him. He can reveal more information about the platinum chip delivery job, mentioning Ulysses as a previous courier, who rejected the job.
  • My Kind of Town: Johnson will describe all three options available to the player. He himself favors Meyers, giving the player a 75% discount if he's installed as sheriff. Notable quotes[]

  • "I don't know what it was brought you to Primm, youngster, but you might want to rethink your plans. Town's gone to hell."
  • "[What was strange about it?] That cowboy robot had us hire six couriers. Each was carrying something a little different. A pair of dice, a chess piece, that kind of stuff. Last word I had from the office, it looked like payment had been received for the other five jobs. Guess it was just your chip that didn't make it. First deadbeat we hired to do the job canceled. Hope a storm from the Divide skins him alive. Well, that's where you came in."
  • "[What's at Vikki and Vance?] That's where we are. This here little casino brought some cash and bodies into the town before them Powder Gangsters came in. They can't rush us without eating a good bit of hot lead, but we are in kind of a box canyon. Guess this is as fitting a place for that as any. I reckon if they thought hard enough about it, they'd realize they got more bodies than we have bullets, but for now we're safe enough in here."
  • "[What happened to Primm?] Let's see. Been tough around here for a good while now. Worse since them thugs kidnapped our deputy. It started with that breakout from the prison up the road. First there was just a few thugs rolling through town, but then they got organized. Now they call themselves Powder Gangsters or something, and run around throwing dynamite and shooting people. Little while ago a good chunk of them left whatever kind of organization they got up there to squeeze all the food and drink out of us they could."
  • "[Where did it come from?] A courier dropped it off a couple months back. I got it working for a little while, but the darn thing pooped out. I haven't been able to get it up and running again. I was hoping to use it for some courier work, but that ain't gonna happen."
  • "[Do you mind if I try to fix it?] You're welcome to try. Its yours if you can get it working. If I had my way I'd dump it in the scrapyard in Novac and be done with the damn thing."
  • "[What is wrong with it?] Hell if I know. I don't think its serious, but my tinkering days are long gone."
