This often overlooked inventor had his portrait, among other overlooked American inventors Richard G. Drew, Carl C. Magee, and Mary Anderson in a gallery at the Museum of Technology in 2077. Unfortunately the gallery has since been reduced to the frames and a placard by 2277.
James Ritty is mentioned only in Fallout 3.
