Ivanpah Dry Lake is a location in the Mojave Wasteland. Located to the south of Primm and to the east of the Nevada Highway Patrol Station.

Background[]

Ivanpah Lake is a dry lake bed in the Mojave, located almost entirely in what was once San Bernardino County, California. It takes its name from the Ivanpah Valley it lies in, and is almost entirely within Californian territory. The large area and steady winds made it a popular racing destination, though now all that's racing is the sand, thrown into the air as part of large dust storms.

Layout[]

The lake is a stretch of desolate, sandy lake bed partially obscured by the almost constant sandstorms. There's a small rocky hill on the northern edge of the lake, with a ruined blue Corvega and a honey mesquite tree on top. The Corvega has a suitcase inside and a stash toolbox between it and the rocks.

Although largely desolate, the area has several barrel cacti and jalapeño pepper plants, with bark scorpions and giant ants skulking around the area, especially the Ivanpah race track further south.

Behind the scenes[]

  • Megan Parks was responsible for layout, prop placement, decoration, terrain shaping, and vistas in this location.[1]
  • The real Ivanpah Lake is a dried up lake just outside of Primm, Nevada where a mining company dumped radioactive waste during the 1980s.
