Marketed as having explosive great taste, the Sugar Bombs contain no explosives, but an overabundance of sugar frosting on each of the uniquely shaped wheat cereals, resembling the mini nuke. Served with milk, it made for a breakfast full of carbohydrates and little else. It was marketed at children, with added promotions to increase sales, such as Captain Cosmos decoder rings. Interestingly, the ingredients used in the bombs make them an ingredient for manufacturing high end drugs[1] and a tool for sabotage, as they can cause violent explosions when introduced to rocket fuel mixes.[2]
The irradiated variant appears in the game as a normal box of Sugar Bombs, but it has absorbed a lot of radiation from sitting in the highly irradiated area of Camp Searchlight, thus giving it the negative effecting of dosing the user with 10 Rads upon consumption.
