Infected brahmin meat is a miscellaneous item in Fallout: New Vegas.

Characteristics[]

It is an infected piece of brahmin meat. It is classified as a miscellaneous item rather than a consumable, and as such cannot be eaten. It has no existing use within the game.

Locations[]

  • 6 pieces can be found in The Gourmand, the Ultra-Luxe kitchen, accessible either via the private members area or the public bar.

Behind the scenes[]

Icon cut contentThe following is based on Fallout New Vegas cut content and has not been confirmed by canon sources.

Infected brahmin meat was at one point intended to be used for sabotage against the members of Caesar's Legion occupying Fortification Hill. A small number of resources exist pertaining to this, notably a popup message named FortPotMsg which reads: "This pot contains ingredients for the Legionaries' stew." The message then offers two options: "Leave the pot alone." and "Added[sic] the infected brahmin meat to the mix." Besides the obvious grammar error, the message is not fully implemented and does not check if the player possesses any infected brahmin meat; the associated script has no result when either button is pressed.

A similar unimplemented script and partially finished message exists for the Legion's mongrels as well: FortDogBowlMsg.
