“
You only plant some of your fields, allowing the others to get back some of the nutrients that the plants used up. You let the other fields become fertile again by just tilling up whatever grows there.
”— Vault Dweller, FalloutImprove Shady Sands' Agriculture is an unmarked quest in Fallout.
Synopsis[]
Shady Sands has a rudimentary agriculture, but makes the error of using all of their fields at the same time. The Vault Dweller can introduce them to the concept of crop rotation.
Walkthrough[]
- Find Curtis in the eastern part of Shady Sands and talk to him.
- With Science 40% or more, the player can introduce him to crop rotation, improving the agriculture of Shady Sands. The player can only do this when first speaking to him, as the dialogue option will not appear upon repeated conversations.
Bugs[]
- It's possible to bypass the Science check by typing in crop rotation in the tell me about field. While he says he doesn't know anything about the term, the game logs this as successful quest completion. This does not allow for getting double the experience points.
