The Hornits Nest 588, simply called abandoned shack in the game, is an unmarked location in Fallout: New Vegas.
Layout[]
This small shack was constructed from the fuselage of an airliner near the Yangtze Memorial, with the badly spelled name carved into the wooden plaque above the door. The interior is a single, messy chamber with an unowned bed, a reloading bench, and a sink and toilet that provide heavily irradiated water. There's also minor loot scattered all over the place. Coupled with the overturned bed, it seems the owner was forced to relocate in a hurry.
Due to the proximity to the Memorial fast travel point, the shack can be a good choice for player housing. Added benefits include the free bed, a reloading bench, and non-respawning containers that allow for safely storing items. The only drawbacks are the fact that the area is filled with radscorpions and even a deathclaw can spawn nearby, making travel a gamble.
Notable loot[]
- Lad's Life: On the floor by the toilet.
- Doggie treat: On the floor, by the burning barrel.
- 9 iron: By the entrance.
Appearances[]
This abandoned shack appears only in Fallout: New Vegas.
