Home Plate is a location and quasi-settlement in the Commonwealth.

Background[]

Home Plate is a vacant building up for sale just outside the Diamond City Market. While under previous ownership, Home Plate was expanded by knocking down walls between it and an adjacent warehouse. The last owner also left behind their tools in the form of a workshop, making it easy for the next resident to remodel the interior as they please.[1] The house can be bought for 2000 bottle caps by talking to Mayor McDonough's secretary Geneva.

Settlement information[]

Although technically classified as a settlement, Home Plate cannot support agriculture or a waterworks, nor will settlers inhabit it. Still, it remains a centrally located base of operations that will not get attacked like other settlements.

Layout[]

Just outside of the door to Home Plate is a power armor station. The house is mostly empty inside at first; the workshop is in the southeast corner and a nearby staircase leads up to the bedroom and a hatch to the roof. The roof hatch leads to the inside of a trailer on the roof, and the rest of the roof contains items such as a dog house, grill, and chairs. The northern section is mostly just useless junk that can be broken down to clear out the space.

Appearances[]

Home Plate appears only in Fallout 4.

  1. Geneva: "Need something, honey? Housing permit? Looking for a job?"
The Sole Survivor: "Let's hear about the permit."
Geneva: "We have one home available. It's in the center of town, right near the market. You can do whatever you like with the interior, and all the tools you need to make your own furnishings are provided at no extra charge."
The Sole Survivor: "Tell me more about this house."
Geneva: "The previous owner bought an adjacent warehouse and knocked down a few walls, so it's bigger than most. And he left behind all his old tools, so you'll have everything you need to modify the inside however you see fit."
