Highway to the Danger Zone[1] is an unmarked quest in Fallout: New Vegas.
Synopsis[]
Nobody has reached the Nellis Air Force Base, but that doesn't stop enterprising people like George from capitalizing on people trying to reach it.
Walkthrough[]
- The player encounters George near the pass leading towards Nellis AFB. George will talk to the player and explain that they are heading into an artillery kill zone, and offer a friendly wager: Bet 300 caps and get back double if the player makes it to the gates of Nellis and back unharmed. If the player accepts the bet (they can make him reduce the wager to 200 caps with Barter 40), they will receive Nellis artillery timing details to help with the bet:
The key to avoiding the artillery is to move from building-to-building up the northwest side of town toward the front gate. Stick to the high cover in the northeast corner of the two buildings, then make a bee line for the gate. The Boomers won't shoot at their own people, so stick to the fence until you make it to the gate. Also, I know there is an old train tunnel that enters the area from the south, but no one has ever come back out of there to say it is safe.
Behind the scenes[]
- The name is the guide author's reference to Danger Zone, from the 1986 U.S. action movie Top Gun, composed by Giorgio Moroder and Tom Whitlock, and performed by Kenny Loggins.
