It creates balls of fire which can ignite foes from a distance, unlike its sibling, the flamer, which requires the user to be in close proximity to a target. The heavy incinerator shoots considerably faster than the normal incinerator. Its rate of fire is equivalent to the heavy incinerator in Fallout 3. Note that this weapon has a long range like the sniper rifle making this an effective long ranged artillery weapon. However it does take some skill to use it well at longer ranges, due to the fireballs trajectory. It is also very accurate at short ranges if aimed correctly.
Enemies killed with critical strikes from the heavy incinerator will explode in a gory, burning fashion, dealing additional damage to nearby targets.
It is affected by the Meltdown perk. It is essentially the energy weapons counterpart to the grenade machinegun, just with a magazine size of 24 instead of 30. It can fire 996 fireballs from full condition before breaking. Interestingly, the Flamer and incinerator also fire exactly the same amount before breaking.
Variants[]
Incinerator, a weaker variant that is more accurate.
The convict leader inside the Bison Steve Hotel may have one depending on the player's level.
Notes[]
This weapon works exceptionally well in V.A.T.S., since it acts like a weapon, and the hit percentage counts towards direct hits with the fireballs, so even though there's only a 1 percent hit chance, the fireballs can still land close enough to the target to damage it.
Despite it having two extra fuel tanks, it doesn't have more ammunition.
Bugs[]
PCPlayStation 3Xbox 360 In V.A.T.S., it fires in a burst of three shots, but only uses one unit of ammunition.
