Hangman's Alley is a location and possible settlement that can be discovered in the Commonwealth.

Background[]

Built into an alley in the heart of Boston, Hangman's Alley is currently occupied by a crew of raiders. The alley is in a strategic area with only two narrow entrances, with the raiders entrenched within, protected by various cover options, and a defensive turret.

Settlement information[]

Once the raiders have been dealt with, and the workbench has been activated, the alley will become a player settlement. This locale consists of a relatively long, yet narrow alley between some buildings. In addition to being rarely ever raided due to its hidden nature, the area remains easy to defend, given that its two narrow entrances mean enemy numbers mean little.

Despite its urban surroundings, this alley has land in the center that is appropriate for growing crops, and welling for water. There is not much room for wide, expansive living structures, but one can alternatively build structures from the ground up, instead of out.

Layout[]

This small raider camp is composed of a couple of wooden shacks in between a few buildings, including a raised shack that contains a steamer chest. The north side of the alley has a room containing a weapons workbench, a cooking station lies in the middle of the camp and a workbench is nestled in an alcove on the south side. The east and west entrances are locked behind Novice locks.

Notes[]

After the raiders have been dealt with, the Sole Survivor will be able to gain access to the settlement workbench. However, should the workbench not be activated, and enough time passes by, the alley will once again become home to raiders, making it necessary to drive them back out, before the alley can be utilized as a settlement.

Appearances[]

Hangman's Alley appears only in Fallout 4.
