Gun drops are small drops of congealed gelatin. As such, they aren't helpful at restoring hit points and will give a small dose of radiation. In Fallout 3, gumdrops are considerably rare and are considered more of a collectible item. In Fallout: New Vegas though, gum drops are increasingly superfluous, being able to be found in more storefronts and homes.
