The Grub n' Gulp rest stop is a location in Fallout: New Vegas, located by Highway 95 north of REPCONN headquarters.

Background[]

The GnG rest stop was set up by Fitz and Lupe as the last stop into New Vegas and the first one out.[1] The rest stops customers are usually NCR patrols or other unaffiliated travelers, but still has to ration out food and water.[2][3] The rest stop is contracted with the New California Republic, which is the only reason it can legally draw water from Lake Mead using the NCR pipeline.[4]

Layout[]

The rest stop is a small place for caravans to swing by and restore. The three stalls are used by Fitz to sell food (usually various cooked wasteland animals; iguana bits are common) and Lupe to sell pure water and the cheaper, slightly irradiated kind. The third stall, the one with an improvised anvil, is empty, suggesting the two had a third partner who has since moved on.

There's a campfire by the boarded-up shack and a small brahmin pen used to keep the bovines before they're turned into steaks. Both merchants are affiliated with the NCR, so any characters hostile to Republicans will attack.

Appearances[]

References

  1. The Courier: "What is this place?"
Fitz: "Just a little rest stop that me and my good friend Lupe set up. Last stop on your way into New Vegas, first stop on your way out, that's what I say."
    (Fitz's dialogue)
  2. The Courier: "How's business?"
Fitz: "I do decent enough. The NCR patrols usually stop by for a quick bite, and travelers like yourself pass by a couple times a week."
    (Fitz's dialogue)
  3. The Courier: "McCarran could work out a regular exchange of fresh vegetables and clean water."
Fitz: "Rations do get tight from time-to-time and it would be nice to keep a regular stock of goods. If I get a big delivery brought in, I'll be sure to send a good chunk of it off to McCarran right away. Tell Farber I'll try and have the first shipment sorted in a week or two."
    (Fitz's dialogue)
  4. The Courier: "Where do you get your water?"
Lupe: "The NCR fixed up the pipe network pretty good, and water merchants like me are allowed to have some of it to sell. If we have a water license, of course. Still, it beats the inconvenience of having to trek all the way to the lake to resupply."
    (Lupe's dialogue)
