Placed in charge of communicating reports up the chain to Ranger and Army command, Green is frustrated by the passivity forced upon them by the brass. As a Ranger, he's used to taking the fight to the enemy and uphold the values of the Rangers, especially where slavery is concerned. However, since Cottonwood Cove is considered a minor target at best, the Rangers are forced to sit and watch the slave trafficking and Legion landings take place. He'd like nothing more than to wipe the place out, but there's just not enough men or materiel to knock the Cove out.[1][2][3][4]
↑The Courier: "What is this place?" Green: "Ranger military outpost. We're keeping an eye on the Legion activities south of here at Cottonwood Cove. Nothing going on down there at the moment - just the usual slave trafficking. Poor bastards." (Green's dialogue)
↑The Courier: "The NCR is letting the Legion get away with slavery?" Green: "Believe me, I would love orders to take Cottonwood Cove apart and kick the Legion back across the river. But, the brass at McCarran doesn't want us to waste resources on something they consider a minor target. So we just get to watch." (Green's dialogue)
↑The Courier: "I have updated radio security codes from Sergeant Reyes here." Green: "What, again? Didn't I just change those damn things? All right, fine - show me the new codes." (Green's dialogue)
↑The Courier: "Does the Legion know you're watching them from here?" Green: "Undoubtedly. Rangers are tough nuts to crack, though, and any force small enough to launch a surprise attack isn't going back in one piece. On the other hand, if the Legion goes for a full-scale attack, we'll see 'em coming, fall back, and wait for reinforcements. So, we know what they'll do and they know what we'll do, so we just sit around and keep an eye on each other." (Green's dialogue)
