The Great Passion Fruit Famine of 2044 was an event in world history mentioned by Sierra Petrovita in Fallout 3.
Background[]
Little is known about the causes of the famine, but it can be assumed that passion fruit crops died out en masse. During this time, the Nuka-Cola Corporation had to change the flavor of its trademark soft drink, because the supply of the fruit had become so low.[1]
Effects[]
Passion fruit was one of the many fruit flavors used in the making of Nuka-Cola. Despite having been introduced only a few months before the famine, people noticed the change in flavor.
