The Golden Gate is a location in San Francisco.
Background[]
Once the symbol of the city, ever since the War, the bridge decayed, slowly falling prey to the elements. A pre-war sect, the Hubologists, built their headquarters into the foundation of the southern end of the Gate, but they were unsuccessful in maintaining the bridge, due to their technological ineptitude.
What they were successful in, however, is procuring a space shuttle from the nearby launch base and placing it on the tarmac in front of the bridge. Dubbed the ESS Quetzel, it's supposedly their passageway to the stars and beyond.
Layout[]
The area is very simple in terms of layout. The space shuttle cannot be entered. The only exits are the exit grid leading back into the Shi-town and the spiral stairs leading into the Hubologist compound.
Dave Handy, the resident tech, stands watch next to the shuttle.
Appearances[]
The Golden Gate appears only in Fallout 2. It is also mentioned in the Fallout 4 PIP-Boy 3000 Mark IV video game Atomic Command and briefly seen in the memories of Conrad Kellogg during the quest Dangerous Minds.
