They are pieces of flesh retrieved from the corpses of ghost harvesters. They are the staple of Dog's irregular diet and can slake his hunger making him compliant to orders, such as pulling the levers in the switching station.

They only appear on ghost harvesters during one section of the quest Fires in the Sky.
