Various types of gauntlets appear as weapons in Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, Fallout 4, and Van Buren.

Background[]

A gauntlet is usually a piece of armor used to protect the wearer's wrists in combat, but some gauntlets have been fashioned instead to inflict injury rather than defend against it. Many are derived from the natural weapons of mutated animals, such as deathclaws, giant mantises, and yao guai, but some are constructed out of ordinary metal.

Variants[]

Bear trap fist[]

Gameplay article:

A makeshift weapon fashioned by the ghost people of the Sierra Madre. Despite it's crude nature, it's cleverly made, with the reset lever being aligned with the arm for easy access and ability to reset after use.

Bladed gauntlet[]

Gameplay article:

The bladed gauntlet is a small cuff with three pieces of large shrapnel fastened to it. When the wearer attacks, the blades savagely slash open skin and rake through soft tissue.

Deathclaw gauntlet[]

Gameplay articles:

Fashioned from the hand of a deathclaw, this gauntlet is as frightening as one. The razor sharp claws are able to totally negate any protection the enemy is wearing and slice to the bone.

Fist of (the North) Rawr[]

Gameplay article:

A deathclaw gantlet that was forged with the hand of the legendary deathclaw, Rawr.

Mantis gauntlet[]

Gameplay article:

Mantis gauntlets are the claw of a giant mantis that has been fixed to a cuff. The gauntlet is remarkably sharp and often used by White Legs bone-breakers due to the abundance of mantises in Zion and the mantis claws' durability.

Embrace of the Mantis King![]

Gameplay article:

Embrace of the Mantis King! is a large mantis gauntlet forged presumably from the mantis "king". It is much more thorny and cumbersome than a regular mantis gauntlet.

Yao guai gauntlet[]

Gameplay article:

This gauntlet is constructed the paw of a yao guai. The massive bear paw can not only cut deep wounds but bruise or even break bones because of its burdensome size.

She's Embrace[]

Gameplay article:

She's Embrace is a yao gaui gauntlet made from the paw of the mythical yao guai, Ghost of She.

Electro-gauntlet[]

The following is based on Van Buren and has not been confirmed by canon sources.
Gameplay article:

A gauntlet that presumably lets off an electric shock upon striking the target.
