We manufacture weapons and ammunition. We've been at this for the last 30 years. But the last 10 have been hell.

Gabriel is the leader of the Gun Runners in Fallout.

Hailing from the Hub, Gabriel was originally the leader of a gang that had particular talents in the field of medical sciences.verification overdue, remove Having migrated to the Boneyard around 2131, Gabriel remade the gang into a group of machinists, manufacturing weapons and ammunition. They scavenged what workable metal they could, settling into a factory in the northeast of the great Boneyard.[1]

All was fine, until around 2151 the deathclaws appeared in the old warehouse to the southwest, affecting the Gun Runners' trade route to Adytum.[1] Worse, in 2158, Jon Zimmerman hired the Regulators to secure the settlement. The brutal mercenaries started squeezing the Gun Runners using their control over the supply of raw materials to their advantage.[2]

Gabriel has been looking for an exit strategy ever since. The Gun Runners are stuck in a holding pattern, since there is no alternative to Adytum, but they cannot move all of their equipment (including large lathes and mills) due to the deathclaws.[3][4] Though they fell over 20 between 2159 and 2161, they just keep coming.[5][6]

This character is involved in quests.

  • Exterminate the deathclaws: Gabriel will give the player the quest to get rid of the deathclaws, so that they can move. The reward is all the weapons and ammo left in the lockers.
  • Get weapons for the Blades: In order to liberate Adytum, the Blades require weapons and the Gun Runners can supply them. The liberation of Adytum will result in the Gun Runners staying in the factory and establishing new trade relations with the settlement.

  1. 1.0 1.1 The Vault Dweller: "{104}{}{What is it you do here?}"
Gabriel: "{109}{}{We manufacture weapons and ammunition. We've been at this for the last 30 years. But the last 10 have been hell.}"
The Vault Dweller: "{110}{}{Why is that?}"
Gabriel: "{111}{}{We've stripped the area surrounding our factory of all the scrap metals that were left after the war. Now we have to rely on Adytum to supply us with raw materials.}"
  2. The Vault Dweller: "{112}{}{What's so bad about Adytum supplying you with your materials?}"
Gabriel: "{113}{}{At first it was fine. They supplied us with raw materials, we manufactured and sold the weapons. Then 3 years ago Zimmerman hired some mercenaries to help protect Adytum from the deathclaw and the odd random attack by raiders. Those Regulators are cold hearted bastards and are squeezing us for all we have. We make the guns and they get rich off of it.}"
  3. Gabriel: "{102}{}{It's not often that we get visitors, how can I help you?}"
The Vault Dweller: "{103}{}{Why don't you get many visitors?}"
Gabriel: "{105}{}{This place isn't very accessible with a nest of those damn Deathclaws right outside our factory.}"
  4. The Vault Dweller: "{114}{}{Why don't you just leave and set up some where else?}"
Gabriel: "{116}{}{We would if we could. But moving is a major undertaking with all the lathes and mills. These are things that aren't just picked up easily moved. We could move but the deathclaw make it impossible.}"
  5. The Vault Dweller: "{106}{}{You guys seem fairly well armed, why don't you go exterminate them?}"
Gabriel: "{107}{}{We've gone over there and taken out a few, but they always seem to come back. Besides, we're machinists, not fighters.}"
  6. The Vault Dweller: "{133}{}{I think I've killed all the Deathclaws.}"
Gabriel: "{134}{}{We need to be sure. We've killed over 20 in the past 2 years and they always seem to come back. And we could never figure out how. Let's give it a few days and if they are still gone we'll see what we can do for ya'.}"
