This is a list of sports you can do anytime in Fallout if you are bored.

Deathclaw Hunting- Pro Sport

NOTE: Do not go Deathclaw Hunting if you are level 19 or under.

Requirments- Lots of Deathclaw and a strong gun. Extras: Stealth-boys, mines, and a companion

What to do- Hunt as many Deathclaws as possible and take their hands. Compare how many hands you have to other players and see who killed the most.

Where to go- Rookies should go to the Old Oney, while proffessinal hunters should go to the Deathclaw Santuary.

History- deathclaw hunting is the most dangerous of the fallout sports. Within seconds, it can turn from simple sport to massive bloodshed. It was created by thrill-seekers who found other sports to easy and had never met a deathclaw before. Hlaf the players who committed deathclaw hunting have died. ALWAYS BRING A COMPANION! If you do not have one, you will likly die within twenty seconds. Fawkes is the best, since he has high endurance and a gatling-laser.

Head Race

A new sport for the criminally insane players and everyone else who is just looking for a bit of evil-karma fun

Requires:

  • A stair (the best one is at the Tenpenny Tower Lobby, but all stairs can theoretically be used)
  • 3+ dismembered heads
  • A mine of some sort (the Bottlecap mine is arguably the best)

Steps:

1. Find a location: The best place to do this sport is at the Tenpenny Tower lobby or in the Underworld Concourse, because of two things:

1. A stair

2. A reliable supply of bodies

2. Set up the game:

Kill everyone in the nearest vicinity. Try to kill them with melee weapons or chest-aimed shots, so the heads don't splatter.

Use a good, sharp melee weapon (like a Chinese Officer's Sword or a Ripper). Saw off as many heads as you like.

Move the heads with the grab button so they all are situated on top of a stair, in a straight line to each other. Consider this "the start line".

Place your bets (I have found that Anthony Ling's head wins most of the time, maybe because his head is filled with air)

Place a mine in front of the heads, step back, and shoot the mine so it detonates.

All the heads will now roll down the stair. Wait until all heads have stopped, then see which one who rolled the longest. The winner gets the entire betting pool, or, as an alternate price, gets to take their head on a victory run throughout the (now) dead ghost town.

Blackhawk Down- Pro Sport

Requirements- "Blackhawk" scoped .44 magnum with five bullets.

What to do- Using the blackhawk, kill five people with instant-kill headshots from an elevated distance. If you miss once or use more than one bullet on a person, you lose.

NOTE: You have to say the five people you are planning to kill before the challenge begins. If you kill anyone else, you will lose.

Where to do it- Megaton, since you have a elevated area that gives you an overlook of the entire city.

History- This sport was created by expert snipers who were looking for the most difficult challenge they could think of.

Into the Wasteland

The goal of this game is to be as badass as possible. You are only allowed to bring 3 weapons. Of these weapons, one has to be a melee weapon (cannot be a Super Sledge or a Ripper, these are too powerful and high-tech for a common wastelander), one has to be a ranged weapons (no Big Guns allowed, except the Flamer, which is common for wastelanders). The last weapon HAS to be a .32 pistol. The armor you wear cannot exceed 12 DR. You are only allowed to bring 3 Chems, and 3 Stimpacks.

Now, head into the Wasteland, and see how long you survive. Real badasses crank up the difficulty.

Might I suggest a walk in realtime from Rivet City to the MDPL-05 Power Station (the nearest accessible point to Raven Rock)?

OK I tried this. Set on Hard with me at Level 16 and not having prepared the route in advance I walked with the following loadout from Rivet City to MDPL-05. Regulator Duster & Hat, Sunglasses!, 10mm SMG & Ammo 6 x Purified Water. I followed the river, dodged Centaurs & Mirelurks 'til I was out of town and creeped through the rocks to avoid Scorpions. I capped a few poorly equipped Raiders on the way but generally avoided contact of all kinds. The only excitement was a poorly advised trip to Roosevelt Academy to look for a bed for the night. This ended with me running away in all kinds of trouble no health and a crippled limb or two! After that I made it to MDPL-05 with no further bother. Also I did not use any looted goodies I picked up on the way.

Avoiding things is easy (when you can run fast).

Mirelurk Fishing- Fun Sport

Requirements- Frag Grenades and a large body of water filled with mirelurks. EXTRAS: Fat-man

What to do- Throw grenades or fire a mini-nuke into a body of water filled with mirelurks, causing spires of water to rise up and kill them.

Where to do it- Outside Dukov's Place, inside the Oasis Caverns, or somewhere in the river that runs through Big Town, Hamilton's Hideaway, and Arefu.

Why would rookies go to a place where the Deathclaws respawn & pros to a place where they don't?

Pararaptor 05:57, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, the Sanctuary may be creepier, but Old Olney always seems far more dangerous. You also have to hope Charon doesn't decide to "go on walkabout" while at Old Olney. He tends to get himself in bunches of trouble. LVTDUDE 15:04, 22 March 2009 (UTC)

Big Game Hunting

What to do: Travel the Wasteland in some form of light armor (Merc Outfits, Leather Armor, or some form of Jumpsuit) and a Hunting Rifle and/or Sniper Rifle and/or shotgun of some sort. Stalk and kill (Sneak Attack Critical) any big creatures over a period of two to four days days. Then compare your tally and timeframe with other players (feel free to edit the points scheme, I cobbled it together with very little playtesting). Be sure to mention the area you hunted in when comparing tallies. For the avid hunter, procure one of the unique rifles (Victory Rifle, Ol' Painless, Lincoln's Repeater, The Kneecapper) and hunt with those, and/or go on week long hunting trips.

  • Deathclaw - 20 points
  • Yao Guai - 15 points
  • Giant Radscorpion - 12 points
  • Mirelurk King/Hunter - 11 points
  • Mirelurk - 8 points
  • Radscorpion - 6 points
  • Super Mutants - 8 points (low perception, so same points for every kind)
  • Brahmin/Feral Ghouls (any type)/Molerats/Dogs - 2 points
  • Endangered Species (Super Mutant Behemoths, other rare/unique creatures) - 25 points

Big game hunting! I'm going to try that. I think it would be a good idea to prohibit (out of fairness to Deathclaws) the use of the Dart Gun!

Gunner Bill 19:42, 22 March 2009 (UTC)

Yup, thats the idea of using the Sniper/hunting rifles/shotguns. The dartgun renders the hunt irrelevant, from my point of view. Run4urLife! 22:17, 22 March 2009 (UTC)

I want to add one thing to Into the Wasteland no unique weapons!!! imho they are too pwrful for the point of the gameMagmadar 23:50, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
