Walkthrough[]
When walking through Freeside, you'll see a destroyed building opposite the street of Mick & Ralph's. In the other side of this building, a Freeside thug is waving his hand to signal you to enter the alleyway. You must follow him, but when approaching him, he runs into a nearby alleyway. If you keep on following him, he will stop next to two dumpsters, and show you a corpse, opening conversation with you, saying "Check it out, between the dumpsters there". Choosing any of the following dialogue options turns him hostile. Three more Freeside thugs will ambush at the entrance of the alley. They are relatively weak and poorly armed, so the fight shouldn't be at all difficult.
Behind the scenes[]
The name for the quest comes from the English idiom "flogging (or beating) a dead horse".
