Background[]
This FT13 model of flamethrower[1] is a self-contained construction tool with a large tank filled with propellant gas on the bottom, a detachable canister of fuel along the barrel, and hoses connecting both to the barrel. Pressing the trigger causes the fuel and propellant to mix in a chamber and a gout of flame is pressed out of the barrel.
Characteristics[]
The flamer is a portable flamethrower that propels a jet of flame. It causes both immediate damage as the target is enveloped in flame, as well as being lit on fire, causing some minor damage over time. It can also be used to light the ground on fire for a time, and targets that run through it will also light on fire. However, enemies that are already on fire are not effected by the burning terrain. As a heavy weapon, it benefits from the Heavy Gunner perk tree.
Several modifications can be added to the flamer; a napalmer tank can be added to improve its damage, the length of its barrel can be modified to increase its attack range, and multiple nozzles can attached to increase damage at the cost of effective range.
Crafting[]
With the Contraptions Workshop add-on, flamers can be manufactured using a weapon forge.
