Did Miria tell you that? I’ll have to spank her bottom for spreading rumors again! Look, I may be poor, but I have my pride. I helped one of the traders fix his wagon, and in return he gave me some tools.
”Farrel is an elderly farmer living in Modoc in Fallout 2.
Background
An old man who makes a prune look fresh, Farrel has been a staple of Modoc for decades, though he has never achieved wealth. He focused on people, rather than wealth. His proudest accomplishment was the long lasting friendship with Cornelius, built over the span of thirty to forty years. Unfortunately, it came crashing down when Cornelius misplaced his golden watch and accused Farrel of theft.
The feud between the two has been going on for some time, it seems, and did not improve Farrel's reputation. Rumors spread by the more wealthy inhabitants of the town, such as Miria, painted Farrel as a thief stealing out of desperation. Even legitimately obtained goods, like tools he received for helping a merchant, were reported to be stolen.
Farrel doesn't like that, but he is too old to take matters in his own hands. He spends his time tending to his garden, but a recent pest invasion has put a damper on his activities and threatens him with hunger.
