Power armor returns from Fallout 4, retaining many of its core mechanics and introducing a few new gameplay wrinkles. Perhaps the most notable change is that suits now spawn widely, but their appearance is no longer guaranteed: Each power armor only has a chance to spawn and might not appear if the player enters the cell - and even if it does, it might have been taken by other players. Since power armor pieces are heavy and sell for very little, other players may also leave pieces as they trade up. Only 2 or 3 pieces of armor spawn at a time, never a whole set. The chassis will also always spawn with a fusion core although this is frequently taken by other players. An (R) by the location name indicates the armor pieces found on the chassis will be raider power armor and can be level 15, 25, 35, or 45. At locations with no (R), pieces of T-45 level 25, 35, or 45; T-51b level 30, 40, or 50; or T-60 level 40 or 50 will spawn. For a given spawn all pieces will be of the same type and level but can be different at the next spawn.

• Excavator power armor must be constructed using schematics downloaded from the Project Manager's terminal at Garrahan Mining HQ at the start of Miner Miracles.
• X-01 prototype power armor must be constructed using schematics downloaded from the command center armory at the Whitespring Congressional Bunker after completing the main quest Officer on Deck.
• Ultracite power armor is a quest reward; after completion of the Brotherhood of Steel mission: Belly of the Beast, schematics can be found at Fort Defiance on Paladin Taggerdy's terminal in the top level which is only accessible after completing Belly of the Beast. The schematics were added in a patch primarily so players could replace pieces that were accidentally scrapped or sold.

Other armors can be constructed by finding the appropriate plan. These are difficult to come by:

• Event: Distant Thunder rewards a random power armor piece crafting recipe on completion.

The Forest

The Crosshair (R)	In the north end of the compound under the rock overhang.
WV Lumber Co.	In the large metal warehouse on the east side of the compound, at a power armor station.
Aaronholt Homestead	Inside the shed with a skill 1 lock by two silos, in a Power Armor Station. The shed is considerably south of the farm houses. The key to the shed is in another location near the east end of the farm.
Gorge Junkyard (R)	Inside the green trailer with a skill 3 lock amid the junk, in the yard itself.
Morgantown Trainyard	In the military cargo car, east side of the main warehouse. The train car has a crane over it.
Mama Dolce's Food Processing	Booby-trapped and mined warehouse, southwest of the factory building. Look for the building with stairs on the outside going to the roof.
Fujiniya Intelligence Base	Locked (ID) Armory Closet, in the Liberator launch bay. A keycard different than the front door keycard is required or there is a skill 1 hack terminal nearby that can open the door. The map can be confusing. Fujiniya Intelligence base has no map marker. It is under Mama Dulces Food Processing.
Black Mountain Ordnance Works	THERE IS NO POWER ARMOR HERE, but Dome 3 has Nuka-Cola paint for T-51b power armor and Dome 7 has Nuka-Cola Quantum paint for X-01 power armor. Both require mini-quests to find four keys or keycards.
Point Pleasant	in the north end, on the roof of the building on the other side of the bridge from the rest of the town. There is a power armor station in a shop on street level below the bridge but no power armor spawns there.
Arktos Pharma	Vertipod Loading Dock, upper floor inside the building above the truck loading dock. Inside a security cage with a skill 0 hack.
Cliffwatch (R)	On the nortwest side, outside the perimeter wall.
Silva Homestead	Inside the rounded barn with the tractor next to the silo southeast of the house.
New River Gorge Bridge - West (R)	Locked storage area below the west span of the bridge. Lock cannot be picked. The key is in Camden Park on the roller coaster car on the flat part of the track.
Lewis & Sons Farming Supply	In the tractor barn warehouse, near the stairs.
Kanawha Nuka-Cola Plant	Inside the plant; Going in the loading dock, enter the door on the left.
Poseidon Energy Plant WV-06	Basement workroom, behind the skill 2 locked security gate.
Wade Airport North	Hangar to the NE of the Traffic Control Tower.
Wade Airport South (R)	Blue trailer on the southwestern corner of the runway with a skill 2 lock and a plasma mine underneath it.
Hornwright Industrial Headquarters	In the basement, near the stairs, near the docking station vending machines. Basement access requires completing the side quest The Motherlode.

Toxic Valley

Crashed Space Station (R)	On the upper edge of the crater to the southeast, on the upper deck of the lookout shed.
Black Bear Lodge	In the small red barn damaged by the falling tree west of the main building.
Clarksburg (R)	Inside the brick tower containing the engine repair shop which is entered by going across the roofs to the fire escape steps.
Eastern Regional Penitentiary	In the power armor shop in the prison yard at a power armor station.
Grafton Dam	In the shed on the west side of the dam at a power armor station.

Savage Divide

Converted Munitions Factory	In an upper room accessible by catwalk.
Sunnytop Ski Lanes (R)	In the basement beside the stairs from the lobby at a power armor station.
Ammo Dump	In the middle of the small compound at a power armor station. Area is guarded by two and sometimes three turrets.
Sons of Dane Compound	In the basement of the house to the west of the main building behind a skill 3 lock.
Monongah Power Plant (R)	In the loading dock area. If super mutants are in residence, there will be six or more in the loading dock area.
Seneca Gang Camp (R)	Beside the stairs to the lookout tower.
Wendigo Cave (R)	Once inside the cave, bear right whenever there is a choice. The power armor is in a short side tunnel on the right. The side tunnel has another tunnel that overlooks it but the cliff is too steep to climb. There are two bodies on the ground, one on either side of the power armor. (There is one small dead-end cave on the right before finding the armor.)
Pleasant Valley Cabins (R)	Inside the arena on the road with raider shacks between the two roads with prewar buildings.
Beckwith Farm	NO POWER ARMOR SPAWNS HERE. There are reports of it at the raider roadblock on Route 105, east of the farm but more than 20 visits have failed to confirm this location.
New Appalachian Central Trainyard	Just outside the ramp leading to the military cargo car in the main building.
Middle Mountain Cabins (R)	Outside the middle cabin, left of the entrance steps.
National Isolated Radio Array	Inside a side room of the large metal warehouse in the northwest corner of the compound.
Blackwater Mine (R)	Near the mechanic's garage on the right when approaching the mine entrance. Look for large blue pump cylinders.
Emmett Mountain Disposal Site	Inside the disposal site, in the area to the right, in the skill 2 locked security area in the generator room.
US-13C Bivouac	NO POWER ARMOR SPAWNS HERE. It is supposed to be in the tent with three blue barrels in front of it. More than 30 visits have been made with no confirmation.
Solomon's Pond	On the concrete foundation with the pump machine at a power armor station.
Ripper Alley (R)	In a rock alcove with bones and candles, up the hill.
Huntersville	Behind the garage with the tents in front of it in the north end of town. South of Huntersville there is a graveyard with helmets on grave markers and fallen Brotherhood soldiers in power armor but these are not retrievable.
R&G Station	POWER ARMOR DOES NOT SPAWN HERE. It is reported to be in a Level 1 locked green trailer. The trailer is there but it cannot be interacted with or opened. There are three other locations where power armor is in a trailer similar to this one.
Lucky Hole Mine (R)	Inside the storage area with the chained door just inside the mine. To bypass the chains, navigate around and drop down from the gap above (look for a sleeping bag).
Site Alpha, Site Bravo, Site Charlie	THESE ARE UNCONFIRMED and irrelevant. There are reports of power armor in the storage area, near the Tinker’s Workbench. These are some of the most challenging areas in Fallout 76. The storage area is far in the back. Any player who can survive to reach it doesn't need more power armor.
Federal Disposal Field HZ-21	POWER ARMOR DOES NOT SPAWN HERE. It is reported to be in the storage cage in the main building. More than 30 visits have failed to find power armor in that location.
Johnson's Acre (R)	East of the cabin, on the promontory with the skeletons.

The Ash Heap

The Rusty Pick (R)	in an unlocked security cage in the basement.
Belching Betty	Near the mine entrance, inside the concrete building with the Fire Marshal.
The Burning Mine	In the brick building on top of the hill above the mine.
Mount Blair	Inside a warehouse east-southeast of the main tower of the huge excavator. it is due north of Abandoned mine shaft 6 and actually closer to there than to Mount Blair.
Abandoned Mine Shaft Elaine	On the east side of the locker hut between the hut and a bus, at a power armor station.
Mount Blair Trainyard	At a power armor station, inside the west end of the main building, near an entrance door.
Rollins Work Camp	In a power armor station on the west side the three office pods.
Beckley	On the south side of the central fortification wall, beside the IFV.
Lewisburg Station	Outside a derailed rail car with "Jobs now or else" written on it, halfway to Big Bend Tunnel West.
Big Bend Tunnel	Inside the locked area in middle of the tunnels. The lock cannot be picked. The key is on a body down a side tunnel that starts just east of the locked area. This is a large side tunnel with rail tracks, not the small caves further east. An alternative to finding the key is to jump onto the storage crates next to the catwalk above the tracks, then jump onto the catwalk. The catwalk connects to the locked area. Note that the map location is shown at Big Bend Tunnel West; map markers do not move once you enter a closed area such as a building, mine, or tunnel. Players can also enter at Big Bend Tunnel East in the Cranberry Bog. The distance and number of scorched encountered is about the same.
Red Rocket Filling Station	The power armor is at a power armor station outside by the wire fence behind the station and the two red fuel tanks.
AMS Testing Site	In the back of the large warehouse with a curving roof at the south end of the compound.
Garrahan Mining Headquarters	In Testing Control and Assessment which is down the stairs to the left. The power armor is at a power armor station. There are also two pieces sitting on the tables in the middle of the room.
	A full set ofExcavator power armor can be crafted at level 25, 35, or 45 using the plans given at the beginning of the side quest Miner Miracles. That quest is started at a computer terminal in the same room. A player cannot craft armor that is higher than their own level.
Striker Row	In the rock alcove in the northeast corner of the compound. There is a fissure site very close to Striker Row. It is difficult to go there without being spotted by the scorchbeast.

The Mire

Thunder Mountain Power Plant	Near the loading dock, in the room with the power armor stations.
	A single armor piece is found on the table in the tents outside the main facility.
Dolly Sods Wilderness	Stands in the woods, southeast of the lodge with the derelict Pick-R-Up outside. From the back porch of the east-most cabin, walk to the nearest tree stump to the southeast. Pass the stump and a campfire partially hidden in the grass. The power armor is in a low spot so it's hard to see in the high grass but it is less than 40 paces from the back porch steps straight past the stump and campfire.
Crevasse Dam (R)	Inside the skill 2 locked green trailer in front of the buildings. The key to the trailer can be found on a body sitting on a makeshift throne on the roof of the taller building.
Dyer Chemical	Inside the sewers, straight down the stairs from one of the three sewer entrances. All sewer entrances require a keycard that is found during the side quest Tracking Unknowns which begins by talking to a robot north of Valley Galleria While any entrance can be used to get to the power armor the closest is in the building in the southeast corner of the complex that has one of the two blue trailers sitting in front of it.
Treehouse Village (R)	Eastern edge of the platform with the living room, near the distillery. Look for a truck that is used as a platform for the stairs. The beasts here are large and difficult to kill. They will not climb stairs so get into the treehouses quickly.
Hawke's Refuge (R)	Inside the cave on the wood platform that leads to the final room at the back of the cave.
Sunday Brothers' Cabin	In the barn with the workbenches right beside the Brewing station.
Big B's Rest Stop	Around the back of the gas station, in the power armor station.
Camp Venture	At the power armor stations inside the metal perimeter wall.

Cranberry Bog

Kerwood Mine	Standing in the water at a dead-end tunnel, off the main hub cavern. This mine is partially flooded, players will have to swim or walk on the bottom in power armor to get to the part of the mine where the power armor spawns. (There is no underwater breath limit in Fallout 76.)
Firebase Major	Outside the tent, between the barracade and the jeep.
Firebase LT	On the south side of the eastern tent.
The General's Steakhouse	In the metal shed in the walled garden east of the main building.
RobCo Research Center	In the northwest wing of the building at a power armor station.
Bootlegger's Shack (R)	Raider: Standing behind the rusting truck cab along the inside of the wooden west perimeter wall.
Quarry X3	On the pavement by the office pod.
Appalachian Antiques	NO POWER ARMOR SPAWNS HERE. It is reported to be between the chairs on the front porch. Over 30 visits have found no power armor.
Fort Defiance	Third floor of the Asylum, at a power armor station.
Watoga Civic Center	On the west side in the main arena.
	East of the Civic Center, on the roof of the residential building, beside a Vertibird. One route is to go up the fire escape on the east side of the Civic Center then look for the Vertibird.
AMS Corporate Headquarters Watoga	Near the crashed Vertibird in the central plaza, just outside the HQ.
Watoga Shopping Plaza	NO POWER ARMOR SPAWNS HERE. It is reported east of Drumlin Diner, on the sidewalk. Repeated trips have not found power armor in this location.
Watoga Transit Hub	Inside the Skill 3 locked generator room behind the information desk in the lobby.
Watoga Emergency Services	On the roof, around the corner from the roof access door. Access is by the stairs from the top floor.
Watoga High School	Southeast roof corner, use the emergency stairs outside the building on the south side.
Big Bend Tunnel East	Outside the tunnel entrance, in the tarp tent at a power station.
Survey Camp Alpha	At a power armor station protected by the tarp.
Lost Home	At a power armor station in the largest building.
Firebase Hancock	Outside one of the portable buildings.
Drop Site V9	At the entrance to the concrete building.
Forward Station Delta	At a power armor station near the steps.
