Modifying armor in Fallout 4 is an integral part of the game, allowing the Sole Survivor to increase the protection of even the most basic of armors.

Overview

With the proper materials, armor can be modified to be more protective from physical, energy and radiation damage. Tinker Tom has even made normal clothing a viable form of protection by lining them with a protective undergarment.
