Fallout 2 Official Strategies & Secrets is the official Fallout 2 strategy guide published by Sybex. It was written by Matthew J. Norton, one of the two lead designers of Fallout 2. It contains some background information, such as the origin of deathclaws, that was not included in the actual game. Because of being written by the game's lead designer, such information is considered to be canon.

Among standard information about gameplay and quests, the guide also features an unique source text: the Book of the Elders, which chronicles notable events from the history of the tribal village from an in-universe perspective. This serves as a companion to Vault Dweller's memoirs in the manual.
