A silent neighborhood. A fortified homestead. This is how you start a good story... or a horror novel.

Piper Wright, Fallout 4

Fairline Hill Estates is the remains of an upscale community in the Commonwealth.

Background[]

Since the Great War the remains of this gated community has been used by several scavenger and raider gangs. It was recently occupied by a small settlement,[1][2][3] now it is home to yao guai and feral ghouls.[4] In the interim one home is fortified, filled with ghouls, its well armed occupant killed, and this place abandoned.[5][6][7]

Layout[]

The houses of the estate are built around a central park and playground. (The center of which has two bleached skeletons, next to them are two brahmin being devoured by yao guai.) Most of the houses are bare and not worth visiting, but blue house in the southeast has a chemistry station in its garage, and the blue house to the west-southwest has a power armor station in its garage. Both have unlocked floor safes. The first is located beneath the destroyed frame of a bed, the second is beneath the end table in the laundry room.

The white house to the west is chained up from the inside; there is a cooking station out in the backyard. The truck on the north side of the house allows one to climb into the second story bedroom (which contains a steamer trunk). This room contains the skeleton of a well armed man sprawled over an explosive box, pipe pistol beneath his hand. Next to the sleeping bag (which is on a dirty mattress) is an ammo box and a pipe rifle against the window. There is another chained door in the bedroom keeping the feral ghouls inside the master bedroom.

To the northwest of the estates is a sagging mansion, inside its mailbox is Jet and pre-War money. Out back is a skeleton on top of a decorated grave, next to a shovel. Further northwest, in the woods, is a trailer with Eleanor, a retired raider, living inside.

Appearances[]

Fairline Hill Estates appears only in Fallout 4.

Since the bombs dropped, several Scavenger and Raider gangs have used the faded remains of this fairly upscale gated community. It is now home to a family of Yao Guai. The northeast house has an unlocked floor safe upstairs. The southwest house has an unlocked floor safe in the laundry porch. The west house is of most concern, especially once you see what’s glowing in the garden. Enter this abode by ascending the rusty truck and debris and heading into the upstairs hole."
