Ethel Phebus is a Californian citizen and wife of Walter Phebus, visiting New Vegas in Fallout: New Vegas.

Background[]

Ethel lives back west on Phebus Ranch with her husband Walter. But that was before their bank demanded payment in full the day after the Stockmen's Association bailed them out.[1] Despite her husbands belief of what Heck Gunderson has been doing to all brahmin ranchers, Ethel comments on how she thinks her husband should just let it be and go back home.[2]

  1. The Courier: "Were are you from?"
Ethel Phebus: "Oh, a good ways west of here, in a place you've never been. Far as we concerned, only name it ever had was "Phebus Ranch." That was before we lost some land to Heck Gunderson. The bank demanded payment in full the day after the Stockmen's Association bailed it out."

  2. The Courier: "What's so important about Heck Gunderson?"
Ethel Phebus: "If that's what you want to talk about, go see Walter. He'll talk your ear off. Everything he says about the evils of Heck Gunderson is true, but I've never held the notion that fighting evil with evil carries the world forward."
