The following is based on Fallout Tactics and some details might contradict canon.

Environmental armor is a special armor in Fallout Tactics.

Background[]

Designed with operations in hazardous environments in mind, this suit has been extensively upgraded by the Eastern Brotherhood to perform well in combat situations too. The underlying full body jumpsuit comes with a full helmet connected to back-mounted air tanks, giving excellent protection from nuclear, biological, and chemical hazards. The red and green armor plating added by the Brotherhood provides the operator with formidable defenses, comparable to second generation combat armor.

Brotherhood Knights are the principal users of this combat suit, leveraging its excellent qualities for operations in highly contaminated areas and frontline combat, backing up Paladins with power armor. The protection from brahmin smell is just a bonus.

Characteristics[]

An excellent armor, though its protective qualities come at the expense of a -1 penalty to Perception and impaired skills (up to -50% for Sneak). As such, it and its superior variant are best employed by close range fighters, sappers, and other types of soldiers who do not rely on Sneak or Perception.
