— Enclave communications officer

The Enclave communications officer handles communications over PoseidoNet for Control Station Enclave in Fallout 2.

Monitoring incoming communications, the officer is responsible for investigating aberrant signals and has the authority to order Vertibird strikes or internal security arrests on anyone deemed suspicious.

Interactions with the player character

Interactions overview

This character has no special interactions.

Other interactions

  • Connecting to the PoseidoNet from the power plant terminal in Gecko will inevitably lead to an encounter with the good officer. The Chosen One can shut off communications at any time and even if the officer orders a Vertibird assault squad to Gecko, nothing happens.
    • The Fallout 2 Restoration Patch fixes this and the player encounters a disoriented Vertibird team outside of Gecko.

Behind the scenes

  • The character is referred to as COM officer in credits.
  • In dialogue, the communications officer asks, "ENCLAVE here. Why isn't your video feed working?" to which the Chosen One can reply, "Uh, we're all fine here. How are you?" This is a reference to a line Han Solo tells investigating storm troopers in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.

The Enclave communications officer appears only in Fallout 2 as a talking head.
