”— Fallout 4 loading screen hintsDry Rock Gulch is a park of Nuka-World.
Background[]
Dry Rock Gulch was the first Nuka-World park expansion, launched in 2058.[1][2] Inspired by John-Caleb Bradberton's own love of the Old West when he was child, the park was designed to emulate the feeling of the American Frontier,[1] working on the popular image of the West as an untamed frontier, full of helpful people. The park was also constructed in part as a celebration of Nuka-Cola Wild, Nuka-Cola's take on the classic root-based beverage.[3]
When the Great War struck, most visitors died where they were; the radiation cooked them performing their last acts, and the concussive force of the blasts toppled the rollercoaster. For over two hundred years later, it remained almost untouched by time. However with the raiders' successful seizure of the trader settlement of Nuka-Town USA, a group fled into this park. With the raiders hot on their tail, they unknowingly barricaded themselves within the bloodworm nest within Mad Mulligan's Mine, and quickly succumbed to the monsters inside. Now the park lays bare, a breeding ground of bloodworms.
Layout[]
The Gulch is an enclosed, confined park. Attractions can be found linearly, starting with the Theater, Doc Phosphate's Saloon in the middle, and terminating at Mad Mulligan's Minecart Coaster. The area is, of course, infested with bloodworms. The creepy crawlies are enough to send a chill up the collective spine of the visitor, right after they bite into the ankles and start tearing off meat.
Inhabitants[]
Notable loot[]
- The Nuka-Xtreme is found on top of the storage shed building in the Dry Rock Gulch Theater, Nuka-Sunrise recipe is found inside the storage shed, and the Nuka-Bombdrop recipe is found on a food cart just west of Mad Mulligan's Minecart Coaster.
- A hidden Cappy for the quest Cappy in a Haystack is found behind a tombstone near The Giddyup Kid's corral. Another is found in Mad Mulligan's Minecart Coaster, on the wall of a shack in the gold panning exhibition.
- Mad Mulligan's Mine Cart medallion is inside the gift shop in Mad Mulligan's Minecart Coaster.
Notes[]
- A toy rocketship is sitting on top of the earthen spire in the northwestern part of the park. It can be accessed by following the tracks to the top and then jumping onto the spire.
- There is a mini Nuke, a Nuka-Cola Wild, two ammo boxes and a male skeleton on top of the oil derrick near the roller coast tracks and the earthen spire described before. The derrick can only be accessed by using a power armor jet pack after jumping from the rocky spire.
Appearances[]
Dry Rock Gulch appears only in the Fallout 4 add-on Nuka-World.
