Dolphin whales, are creatures that can be found all across the Commonwealth, always dead, in the year 2287.
Biology[]
Heavily mutated since the Great War, these creatures can be found all along the coast-line, and have notably developed larger teeth, a shorter dorsal fin and pinkish-grey color. Since whale corpses build up large amounts of gas during the decomposing process, if enough physical force is applied, the rotting corpse will burst from the released gas.

- While a proper name has not yet been given for this species, in the Fallout 4 game files, these creatures are referred to as both dolphins, and as whales.
- All in-game appearances of the dolphin whales, are seen to be dead.
- In the game files, there is an animated dolphin whale file, suggesting that in the quest, 20 Leagues Under the Sea, there was to be a live dolphin whale.
