The Dinner Bell is a weapon in Fallout: New Vegas. It is a unique variant of the hunting shotgun.

Background[]

The following section is transcluded from shotgun. To modify, please edit the source page.

A shotgun, also called a "scattergun", is a firearm designed to shoot a multitude of projectiles with a single pull of the trigger. This makes it very effective at hunting game, greatly increasing the weapon's hit potential. However, the accuracy and power found at close range diminish rapidly as you get farther away from the target. Shotguns designed for military use are often called "combat shotguns".

The hunting shotgun is a long range precision shotgun used for hunting big game. This shotgun was built for accuracy and power, and is one of the best shotguns available, using rare but powerful 12 gauge shells. It's pump-action, which means there's a longer than average delay between shots. It also loads through the bottom.

Gameplay attributes[]

The Dinner Bell is a unique variant of the hunting shotgun. It differs in appearance to the standard shotgun with the metal of the barrel, receiver, and shell ejection port seem to appear to be more well-maintained, and that the stock and grip pump are synthetic with a woodland camouflage pattern.

This weapon, like most unique weapons, cannot be modified, with either the longtube or the choke modifications, but the weapon already incorporates the choke and has a reduced spread when compared to the unmodified hunting shotgun. The Dinner Bell still has the advantage of greater damage compared to a fully-modified hunting shotgun. The Dinner Bell can fire 745 standard 12 gauge shells, 149 full magazines, before breaking. However, the firearm never jams no matter what condition it is.

Bugs[]

  • Xbox 360Icon xbox360 After being holstered on the player's back it can cause some rifles to be inverted from their usual holstered position.
  • Xbox 360Icon xbox360 Switching to the 12 gauge, coin shot while moving may cause a looped reloading sequence.
    • It can be easily fixed by simply changing ammunition type once more, or switching weapons.
