Diamond City Security
Security is part of what keeps Diamond City above the petty squabbles and misfortunes of the Commonwealth. I can't betray that for anything.”— Mayor McDonough
The Diamond City Security service has protected the City and its surrounding areas for decades, responsible for both defending the perimeter from raiders and mutants and keeping the peace within the protective walls of Fenway Park. In the words of the mayor, the uniformed Security is one of the things that separates the City from the surrounding wasteland.
Interactions with the player character
- Diamond City Security plays a background role in the game, featuring in an indirect role in a few quests and scripted interactions.
The DSS focuses on rugged, reliable, and cheap technologies. Their standard uniforms combine salvaged sports gear with additional padding and bullet-resistant materials, giving them protection equivalent to light combat armor in key areas, with a number of options available for officers, ranging from just the vest to complete sets complete with matching helmets. In terms of weapons, officers are issued various types of pipe guns. While lacking the refinement of pre-War firearms, they are rugged, reliable, and plentiful: Exactly what's needed to arm a larger outfit out in the wasteland.
Diamond City security appears only in Fallout 4.
