Dead Man's Burden is a perk in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Lonesome Road.

Effects[]

The perk grants you a point you can place in any SPECIAL attribute, Boomers and Powder Gangers fame, and Caesar's Legion and New California Republic infamy.

Notes[]

  • If you do this before obtaining the Platinum chip you can avoid being vilified by both NCR and Legion as you are pardoned of all past crimes when a courier is sent to have you report to Ambassador Crocker or Caesar, respectively.

Behind the scenes[]

The name is an play on the phrase White Man's Burden, originating in a poem by Rudyard Kipling which espouses imperialism.

Bugs[]

  • The SPECIAL point must be added. If you have them maxed out, then you will not be able to continue.
    • FIX: PC users can use the console command "cam" that will just close the menu and you'll be able to continue.
    • FIX: If you have the DLC Old World Blues, you can transportlpond back to BigMT and then back with getting the perks. Can only be done if missile has been fired at someone, however, Dry Wells and The Long 15 will not be accessible.
