This is the Customs Office for Vault City. We're responsible for keeping a log of all the goods that come to us via the caravans and supervising all transactions. All merchants must pass through customs before entering the city.
”— WallaceThe Customs Office is the checkpoint for all merchants and other outsiders wishing to enter the Vault City proper. It also monitors all goods flowing into the city and oversees all transactions the merchants make, with no exceptions.[1]
Layout[]
The building sits right next to the town gates. Inside it's divided into two rooms, the foyer with Skeev, the assistant officer, and Wallace, the actual Customs Official.
The player has to talk to the latter to either purchase or obtain a day pass. Skeev can offer a riskier proposal, false citizenship papers.
The locker in Wallace's office has a day pass, $131, a stimpak and a first aid kit.
Appearances[]
The Customs Office appears only in Fallout 2.
