Driving Paradise

— Corvega billboard slogan, Fallout 3 & Fallout: New Vegas

Corvega was a brand of American automobiles and a marque division of Chryslus Motors company prior to the Great War that produced several commercial-use cars.

Overview[]

Corvega was the flagship brand of Chryslus Motors and one of the dominant forces on the automotive market after the resource crisis rendered combustion engines largely extinct. Using a brand name dating back as early as 2056,[1] Chryslus relaunched the marque as a broad line of electric, fission, and fusion automobiles available in a variety of models. The price of an old model Corvega in 2077 was $199,999.99 - despite that, they remained extremely popular. However, despite their popularity, standards of manufacture seem to have deteriorated, with coupes manufactured in 2077 having a tendency to leak coolant.[2]

Models[]

Model name Image Description
Analog Coupe
A wrecked original Corvega, found on the wall of Junktown in Fallout
A classic two-door sports coupe with an oversized, front-mounted engine, the original Corvega Coupe featured an 800 horsepower fusion power plant capable of going from zero to 60 miles per hour (97 km/h) in 0.5 seconds. Driving it was a challenge, however, as it was completely analog with no onboard electronics.[3]
Atomic V-8
The Atomic V-8 Corvega
A rugged, dependable sedan that was one of the most popular models in the Corvega line, available across the United States.[4] The Atomic V-8 was sold with two or four doors, a flat-top and a bubble-top, and available in a variety of colors. The interior was commonly lined with red leather, especially in the second-generation models that entered the market before the Great War.[5]
Sedan
A pristine Crovega sedan in Fallout 3
Another variant of a full size sedan, a true road cruiser with a massive body and a nuclear engine.
Blitz
Fo4 Corvega Blitz Iso
An economical and family friendly coupe, the Blitz was a variant of the Corvega line designed to combine good performance with low maintenance requirements, excellent fuel efficiency, and four seats.[6]
Flying Car
Corvega hover car
A cutting-edge vehicle built for two passengers and capable of taking to the air.[7]
Megaloader

A multipurpose utility vehicle sold under the marquee Corvega brand.

Corvega models are commonly found throughout the games:

  • The classic analog Corvega is found as junked models and as pieces of junk walls in Fallout and Fallout 2.
  • Both the Sedan and the Atomic V-8 are commonly found in Fallout 3. Notable examples include the pristine Sedans in Tranquility Lane and the maintenance level onboard the alien mothership in Mothership Zeta. Miniature models are found in Tenpenny's penthouse and come with the Tenpenny Tower pre-War suite theme.
  • They are widespread throughout Fallout 4 and Fallout 76. Notably, if the car's engine has not been damaged, they will explode with the force roughly equal to that of a mini nuke if shot, making them useful in combat.

Behind the scenes[]

  • The symbol on the hood of the four-door Corvega is similar to the chevron used on Chevrolet vehicles in the 1950s.
  • The name Corvega is a portmanteau of two notorious Chevrolet car models: the Corvair and the Vega.
