Background[]
The Avenue was a major thoroughfare connecting The Fens with Boston Common, stretching from the Holy Mission Congregation all the way to the park. Residential homes and businesses opened to the avenue, making it one of the bustling hearts of the city.

The Avenue encloses the Esplanade district together with the riverfront Storrow Drive. It's divided into two lanes of traffic, with a green belt between.
