The coastal cottage is a location and possible settlement in the Commonwealth.

Background[]

This small cottage on the banks of the Atlantic could be refurbished into a settlement for the Commonwealth Minutemen... if the mirelurks could be exterminated.[1]

Settlement information[]

This settlement is among the smaller settlements, encompassing only the ruined house, garage, and a small tract of land to the north, which can be used for cropland or water wells (since there isn't any free flowing water within the settlement). This settlement is also in a dangerous part of the Commonwealth and will frequently be under attack.

There is not a lot of junk to breakdown for structures, so a supply line will likely be required to make any large structures in this settlement. Still, this means that the settlement can be uniquely built from the ground up rather than relying on general buildings that are already built.

Layout[]

The cottage is mostly wrecked, with a large trailer truck splitting it in two. A small cave dug out of the soil below it. To the south is a garage containing the workshop.

Appearances[]

The coastal cottage appears only in Fallout 4.

Offering windswept views of the ocean and Salem to the southeast, this ruined home and outbuildings are ripe for redevelopment as a settlement, once the Mirelurks are removed."
