A military or police baton. Heavy wood.

— Fallout 2 in-game description

The club is a melee weapon in Fallout and Fallout 2.

The following section is transcluded from Club. To modify, please edit the source page.

The club is a pre-War military and/or police baton, composed of a hardwood such as oak or cherry.[1][2][3]

Gameplay attributes

This weapon is by no means powerful, and a player will most likely have a greater use of their guns or another melee weapon. It shares the same low damage amount as the knife, but has a cheaper value, weighs more and needs one more strength necessary to be wielded.

Behind the scenes

According to the Fallout demo, the club was originally going to be a blunt object with a description parodying its prehistorical nature.[4]

  1. Vault Dweller's Survival Guide p.5-15: "This police baton will help subdue your opponents. You can swing or thrust it, as you desire. The baton will focus your strength, doing more damage than your own hands. Not much more, but more…"
  2. Fallout Official Survival Guide p.112: "Club: Essentially a police baton, a short length of hard wood that you can use in a swing or a thrust to concentrate and focus your power. Adds to the damage when you connect."
