Darn it. Nobody ever buys the T-Rexes.

Cliff Briscoe, Fallout: New Vegas

Cliff Briscoe is the owner of the Dino Bite gift shop in Novac in Fallout: New Vegas.

Background[]

The proprietor of Novac's premier (and only) trading post is an older gentleman who's been a part of the town for years, forming a deep friendship with the town's de facto mayor Jeannie May Crawford. Although he's had luck selling supplies to travelers, merchants, and other visitors to Novac, he has yet to succeed in shifting the overabundance of Dinky the T-Rex toys and rocket souvenirs (unloaded at the Dino Bite as a tax write-off). The tacky dinosaur toys are the last thing on a traveler's mind when he comes to restock and the toy rockets even less so. Cliff has resigned himself to hawking them at anyone coming in, before grudgingly selling them the supplies they need.

Quests[]

  • Come Fly With Me: The player can inquire about the contents of the toy rockets with 40 Science. They have minute amounts of radioactive rocket fuel and can be purchased to provide the ghouls with fuel. Leftover toys can be given to Mini Boomers.
  • One for My Baby: Cliff can offer some background information on Carla's disappearance and can be fingered as the perpetrator to Boone.

Other interactions[]

  • If Jeannie May is killed, Cliff takes over as motel manager. As such, he will provide the Novac motel room key in her stead once the player reaches an Accepted reputation in Novac. The player can also brag to him about killing Jeannie May for missing their wake-up call, which doesn't affect their standing with Novac.
  • The player can figure out that the T-Rex figures are worthless with 30 Barter, which will prompt Cliff to sell the key to the storage room in his inventory.
  • Cliff does not empty his inventory, making him a potential storage merchant.

  • PCIcon pc PlayStation 3Icon ps3 Xbox 360Icon xbox360 Cliff's cap amount might not reset properly, especially if his caps are over 30 000.
  • Xbox 360Icon xbox360 When Come Fly With Me is active and the player is seeking nuclear fuel, the Science 40 check will not properly disappear. Although it gives no further experience, it can be exploited for the Outstanding Orator achievement. The dialogue disappear correctly once the player has any nuclear fuel.

Appearances[]

Cliff Briscoe appears only in Fallout: New Vegas.
