Civil War draft poster
The United States first exercised national conscription during the American Civil War. Posters like this were pasted all over towns with instructions on how to register for the military. However, the posters were mostly unneeded as 92% of the Union military volunteered and were not drafted into service. This piece of Civil War memorabilia is now wanted by Hannibal Hamlin (who wishes to preserve it), Leroy Walker (who wants it destroyed) and Abraham Washington (who wants it for his collection).
The poster is found in the Museum of History, in the Offices section on a bookshelf in the southeast corner of the library area downstairs.
When standing before the correct shelf containing the poster, your arrow should face to the left of your local map on the Pip-Boy. There's a pillar to the right of the shelf, and a red firehose box should be visible to your right as well. The poster looks like a frame of a picture, and it's at the top right corner of the shelf.
Sometimes the poster falls onto the floor or face-down while remaining on the shelf. If you stand in the position mentioned above, the item will be directly below you or sticking out on the shelf as a larger tan frame. If the poster has landed face down, it looks like a larger tannish floor tile.
As a part of the unmarked quest Lincoln's Profit Margins, it can be sold to:
- Hannibal Hamlin from Temple of the Union (for 75 caps to start, but 150 upon passing a Speech check)
- Leroy Walker at the Lincoln Memorial (for 50 caps to start, but 100 upon passing a Speech check)
- Abraham Washington in Rivet City (for 60 caps, but 120 upon passing a Speech check)
Although it no longer serves any purpose, this item is still found in the game files for Fallout: New Vegas.
