Cheyenne Mountain is part of the Rocky Mountains and the site where the headquarters of the North American Aerospace Defense Command were located.
Overview[]
The home of the NORAD was a nuclear bunker built deep into the living rock of the mountain, designed to house a command and control center that could survive even direct nuclear detonations. In the 21st century, it appears to have fallen prey to corporate interference, as it was hooked into PoseidoNet communication links alongside the Strategic Air Command and Iron Mountain. By the 23rd century, it was marked as permanently offline.[1] Small wonder, as when the bombs started flying in 2077, Cheyenne Mountain was a primary target. A huge section of the mountains became a great radioactive smoking crater.[2]
Appearances[]
Cheyenne Mountain is mentioned in Fallout 2 and appears as a location in Fallout Tactics. It was also at least a mentioned location in Van Buren.

A huge section of the mountains became a great radioactive smoking crater. Coupled with attacks on Denver and the Rocky Mountain Arsenal, Boulder was involuntarily included in a triangle of hellish death; yet 170 years later, the dome still stands."
