Certified Tech is a perk in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Lonesome Road.
Effects[]
Your knowledge of robotic components allows you to break them more easily and salvage their mechanical corpses. You have a +25%* chance to score critical hits against robots, and you'll also find more useful components on robots you destroy.
To be specific, the perk adds a 85% chance that a robot will have one fission battery, two scrap metals, two sensor modules and three scrap electronics on its body upon death. This is added to the items it would normally have, not replaced. The perk works with add-on robots as well, like robo-scorpions.
Notes[]
- You need to have at least one other Fallout: New Vegas story add-on, besides Lonesome Road in order to get this perk, as it requires you to be level 40.
Bugs[]
- The perk is set up with an incorrect critical modifier. It adds a flat +0.25% chance to crit against robots, not +25%, whereas it seems to have been intended to multiply your current crit chance by an extra 25%. As such, it is nearly impossible to score a crit simply because of Certified Tech.
- J.E. Sawyer's personal patch corrects this problem.
