I'm not supposed to talk to strangers.

— C.J. Young, Fallout 3.

C.J. Young is a young citizen of Rivet City in Fallout 3.

Background[]

C.J. is as happy a kid as you'll find in the Wasteland. She's been raised by two loving parents and lives a great kid's life, hanging out on the flight deck or exploring Rivet City with her best friend, James Hargrave. James does pick on her mercilessly, even though she's a year older than him. She is constantly apologizing and forgiving him for all his teasing. Despite this, the two are best friends. She is a trusting and honest young girl.[1]

Relationships[]

C.J. is the daughter of Christie and Henry Young. She is the best friend of James Hargrave.

Bugs[]

  • You may run into her outside of Rivet City by herself before ever entering Rivet City. She will only say "I'm not supposed to talk to strangers".
  • When James and C.J. run away to Anacostia Crossing after you taunt James, C.J. can be spoken to with the same dialogue options as James: she will say something along the lines of "I'm scared, please take me home." and the player can respond with both negative ("You're on your own kid, deal with it") or positive ("Sure kid, I'm sorry I said those things. Let's go") options. As there is no way to insult her in-game, the positive one effectively makes you apologize for something that never happened.
  • Even after you've returned the children, their parents still seem to think they're missing, when in reality they may be standing in the same room.
