"Robbed" is such an ugly word. It's more like I took care of a payroll problem for him. Also, I might have... umm... sort of... plowed his daughter. A little.

Bruce Isaac is a singer hiding in Novac in Fallout: New Vegas.

Background[]

The talented Bruce Isaac was one of the stars of New Reno's entertainment venues, more specifically, the Shark Club.[1] However, his fame and fortune did not help him at all when he decided to correct a debt Mr. Bishop owed him... All on his own.[2][3] The Bishops noticed money missing from the casino's bank. The fact that Bruce also seduced and slept with Bishop's daughter probably didn't help either.[4]

Bruce fled to the frontier of the Republic, hiding in Novac from what he feels is impending retribution from Mr Bishop.[5][6][7]

Behind the scenes[]

  • Bruce's dialog references canon endings from Fallout 2. These are only possible if the Chosen One slept with either of the Bishop women. Interestingly, the son takes after his family, as John Bishop also wasn't too impressed by his daughter sleeping with a tribal.
  • At one point, the player would've actually had to deal with a Bounty Hunter hired by Mr. Bishop that was looking for Isaac. The only mention to this event is in the script for Talent Pool, VMSTopsTalentPoolScript, that has a variable named BruceHunter and a comment that reads, "Set to 1 after the player has encountered the bounty hunter on Bruce's trail." This was either cut due to time or deliberately cut to narrow the focus of the quest.

Appearances[]

Bruce Isaac appears only in Fallout: New Vegas.

References

  1. The Courier: "Aren't you that singer from New Reno? I think I saw you play the clubs there."
Bruce Isaac: "Oh, so you have heard of me. Yeah, that's right. I was the big draw at the Shark Club, people used to pay hundreds of caps to see me."
    (Bruce Isaac's dialogue)
  2. The Courier: "Why would this Mr. Bishop be after you?"
Bruce Isaac: "Oh, well, that's all just a big misunderstanding, see. Mr. Bishop, well, he owed me a lot of money, and, y'know, he's a busy guy, so I sort of figured I'd just...take it off his hands."
    (Bruce Isaac's dialogue)
  3. The Courier: "You robbed a casino boss?"
Bruce Isaac: ""Robbed" is such an ugly word. It's more like I took care of a payroll problem for him. Also, I might have... umm... sort of... plowed his daughter. A little."
    (Bruce Isaac's dialogue)
  4. The Courier: "And so because of that you ran all the way to Novac?"
Bruce Isaac: "I figured it might take him a while to understand his accounting error and cool down a little. Also, I might have... umm... sort of... plowed his daughter. A little."
    (Bruce Isaac's dialogue)
  5. Bruce Isaac: "Ahhh! Please don't kill me, I swear I'll have - wait. You... you don't work for Mr. Bishop, do you?"
The Courier: "No, I don't. What makes you think that?"
Bruce Isaac: "Sorry, it's just... you look like his type, y'know? You got that hard-ass wasteland explorer thing going on."
    (Bruce Isaac's dialogue)
  6. The Courier: "Why did you come all the way out here from New Reno?"
Bruce Isaac: "You don't know Mr. Bishop. He's not like the other bosses up there. He knows the Wasteland like the back of his hand, and he likes to wander it. I knew if I didn't get way the hell away from New Reno, he'd run me down like a dog."
    (Bruce Isaac's dialogue)
  7. The Courier: "Wow. My hat is off to you, that takes some balls."
Bruce Isaac: "Thanks, but if Bishop finds me and I don't have his money, my balls are going to be on his trophy wall."
    (Bruce Isaac's dialogue)
