The Broadsider is the answer to that age-old question: "Would it be fun to walk around and shoot people with a portable naval cannon?" Yes. Yes it would.

Fallout 4 loading screen hints

The Broadsider is a weapon in Fallout 4.

Background[]

The Broadsider is an antique naval cannon, still preserved well into the 23rd century. All things considered, the gun is rather small, propelling one-pounder balls, as opposed to the more common twelve- or eight-pounder balls.

Characteristics[]

As expected from a cannon of this caliber, The Broadsider deals a staggeringly high amounts of damage with a surprising amount of accuracy. The rate of fire is exceptionally low and the weight is exceptionally high, but with so much firepower these become non-issues. Furthermore, the weapon benefits from the Heavy Gunner perk, increasing its firepower even more.

Contrary to what one would think, the cannon's ammunition is not that difficult to come by in the wasteland; most weapon dealers have at least a few cannonballs in their inventory, furthering the use of The Broadsider.
