Bootjack Cavern is an unmarked location in the Mojave Wasteland that is east of wrecked Highwayman. From the wrecked Highwayman, head due east (toward Lucky Jim Mine) until you reach the cliff face, then head north along the cliff.
Layout[]
Exterior[]
Bootjack Cavern is nestled into the Ireteba Peaks with its entrance facing west, towards the road. A large group of fire geckos guard the entrance to the cave.
Interior[]
Inside the cavern, there are two dead prospectors, a number of fire geckos (around 12), and little loot. One of the two dead prospectors has a hunting shotgun and a second random weapon, either a silenced .22 pistol, a single shotgun, a caravan shotgun or a 10mm submachine gun.
A pile of fire gecko eggs can be found at the southern tip during the quest Bleed Me Dry.
Related quests[]
Notable loot[]
- Hunting shotgun on a dead prospector.
- Pile of fire gecko eggs for the Bleed Me Dry Quest.
Notes[]
- The Pip-Boy display is deceptive because it displays the quest marker on the east-facing side of the mesa, in the cave's interior. Players having difficulty finding the location would be well-advised to begin at the road and head east, rather than beginning at Lucky Jim Mine and heading west.
Appearances[]
Bootjack Cavern appears only in Fallout: New Vegas.
