For each level of Bonus Move, you get 2 free APs each turn that can only be used for movement. In other words, you can move 2 free hexes each turn for each level of this Perk.

Fallout and Fallout 2 description

Bonus Move is a perk in Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics, J.E. Sawyer's Fallout Role-Playing Game, and the canceled Van Buren.

Fallout, Fallout 2 and Van Buren[]

+2 AP per rank. These bonus action points can only be used for movement. In Fallout, this perk can be taken three times; in Fallout 2, it can only be taken twice. The counter only shows up to 10 Action Points, but the game keeps track of them regardless. They are not visible on the bar in Fallout, but show up as yellow-colored lights in Fallout 2.

Bonus move is quite useful for brawling and melee builds, allowing one to close distance in the initial turn and then stay close to enemies who flee or are knocked back. It is also available earlier than Action Boy.

Notably, the move AP reset upon reload, allowing the player to move any distance in any of the official version of either Fallout or Fallout 2.

Fallout Tactics[]

+20% movement range per AP. With both ranks, a character can move 40% farther.

J.E. Sawyer's Fallout Role-Playing Game[]

With each level of this Perk, the player character can move 1 more hex in the movement phase. With both ranks, they can move an extra two hexes.
