The Blades are a group of survivalists led by a woman named Razor, living in a pre-War nightclub and a few outlying houses north of Adytum, Boneyard in 2161.
Background
The Blades are mostly cast-offs and actually are not that bad, at least as far as gangs go.[1][2] Their vicious name is a misnomer, likely coming from an advertisement for "Blades" brand razor products seen on their main base's exterior wall. Their peacefulness has been taken advantage of by the Regulators, who both coerce them into doing their bidding and frame them for crimes against the people of Adytum.[3] This makes it appear that the Adytowners are seriously threatened by the Blades; a convenient pretext for the Regulators' own repressive policies.
Organization
While relatively unarmed, a man named MacRae teaches the Blades his knowledge of combat skills as self-defense, and guards their front-door entrance from intruders.[4] He is mainly the only 'representative' the Regulators parley with; however, there is little peace-talk.
Outside relations
Interactions with the player character
If the Vault Dweller agrees to help the Blades fight the Regulators, they will be instructed to go to the Gun Runners' fort and ask their leader for weapons and ammunition. After the Vault Dweller does what is asked, the Blades storm Adytum fully geared (the Vault Dweller may be in the fight as well if they wish). Alternatively, the hero can claim the Gun Runners' weapons for themselves and take out the Regulators alone. In this case, after the extermination of the Adytum's oppressive gang, the Blades will be thankful to the Vault Dweller as well but will seem to remain living in their camp north of Adytum instead of moving to the newly liberated town and joining its inhabitants.
